Hello Darlin'!

I'm Brooke, a geriatric nurse with over a decade of experience. I've witnessed firsthand the profound importance of end-of-life care during my time as a travel nurse. Sadly, I've seen that not everyone receives the compassionate support they deserve in their final moments. My mission is to create a hospice sanctuary for the unhoused, ensuring that every individual has access to the quality end-of-life care they need and deserve. Read more of my story below!

My Story

I’m a nurse, an artist, and a rebel soul who’s walked hand-in-hand with both life and loss.

For over ten years, I’ve worked in geriatrics, a field that taught me that healing isn’t just found in medicine — it’s found in presence. I’ve held fragile hands in their final moments, whispered comfort when words were impossible, and watched the way love lingers long after a heartbeat fades. Those experiences cracked me wide open. They forced me to meet grief not as an enemy, but as a teacher — one that reshaped the way I live, love, and create.

My most personal lesson in grief came when I lost my dad at 30. That loss split my world in two — before and after. It showed me just how much we need spaces to grieve, to heal, and to still find beauty even when everything feels shattered. His absence continues to shape the way I show up for others, and his memory is woven into everything I create.

Grief taught me rebellion. Rebellion against silence. Against pretending everything is fine when it isn’t. Against the idea that caregivers, nurses, and healers have to keep carrying the weight alone.

Art became my way through. Painting, journaling, creating — became sacred portals where I could pour out the heaviness, the beauty, the in-between. And it’s in those messy brushstrokes and midnight journal pages that I realized: there are so many of us carrying quiet grief, wild dreams, and untold stories — and we need each other now more than ever.

That’s why I created The Nomadic Nurse Collective.

This isn’t just another online space. It’s a sanctuary for the wanderers, the weary, the seekers, and the healers. It’s where community replaces competition, where laughter and tears are equally welcome, where you can show up as your full, unfiltered self. Here, we celebrate the sacred and the silly, the art and the advocacy, the grief and the growth.

Because being a nurse is more than a job. Being an artist is more than a hobby. And being human means, we’re never meant to walk through it all alone.

The Collective is my rebellion and my love letter — to you, to me, and to every soul who has ever felt unseen but still dares to create, connect, and keep showing up. My deepest hope is that by building this space, I can also plant the seeds for my bigger dream: creating a hospice sanctuary for the unhoused. A place where dignity, compassion, and love are non-negotiable. A place built in honor of my dad, whose passing at 30 showed me the urgency of living fully and caring fiercely for those too often forgotten.

So if you’re craving more than survival — if you want to be part of something raw, supportive, and unapologetically real — you’ve found your place here.
